Alexia Fenchel is inspired by the structures of everyday life in the working class, particularly the work and aesthetics on construction sites.
Due to some unpleasant side effects arising from these structures, she decided to create her own works using textiles.
Through her drawings, Alexia seeks to understand her surroundings in a serious and playful manner. Her work sometimes ignores the unspoken rules we follow. Some people would describe her style as naïve, but Alexia truly believes that "people who think like that are stupid anyway."
Alexia Fenchel studied Fine Arts at the Bauhaus University in Weimar and the Athens School of Fine Arts. In addition to her artistic pursuits, she works in the film industry as a dresser and assistant.
